Amazon has reduced the cost of its budget-friendly annual membership plan, Prime Lite, by Rs 200. Originally introduced earlier this year at Rs 999, the toned-down version, offering free delivery on Amazon purchases, is now available for Rs 799.
Changes in benefits for Prime Lite members include eligibility for free same-day and one-day deliveries, an improvement from the previous two-day delivery. For morning deliveries, members can opt for an additional fee of Rs 175 per order. The plan also grants early access to Amazon‘s ‘Lightning Deals’ and ‘Deals of the Day’.
While the pocket-friendly option provides access to Prime Video, the resolution is limited to HD with ads on a single device. Previously, users could log in to Prime Video on two devices.
However, Prime Lite does not include services like Amazon Music and Prime Gaming. Instead, the e-commerce giant now offers up to 5% cashback on select purchases. Additionally, benefits such as no-cost EMI on select smartphones and Prime Advantage, offering free screen replacement for up to 6 months at no additional cost, are retained.
In comparison to the standard Prime membership, which offers monthly, three-month, and annual plans, Prime Lite is available as an annual plan. For users content with watching videos in HD and willing to forgo other services like Amazon Music, Prime Lite represents a cost-effective option.
