Peter Thiel, a billionaire investor at the Silicon Valley, says there is one Democratic presidential candidate who is making him more concerned about the general elections ahead in the year 2020.
Theil was featuring on the Tucker Carlson Tonight on Monday where he said that, “Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass is the only Democratic candidate campaigning on the economy, while others are mired in discussions about identity politics”.
He said that he is most scared Elizabeth Warren. Peter further mentioned that she is the only candidate who is actually focusing on the one thing that matters for the country, the economy. According to Peter, other candidates are campaigning for their own political benefits.
Peter Theil, who is known to be the first openly gay speaker addressing the 2016 Republican National Convention, also said that he finds the other two dozen Democratic candidates not so inspiring. He said, “I think almost all the others are equally unimpressive in the sense that it’s all identity politics of one flavor or another”.
Peter went on to say that he would not want to rank how unimpressive these candidates are, since it would force him to rank the identical identities and which one is more special and privileged. He said it would be a dangerous thing to step into.
Previously on the interview, Thiel said that he called the FBI and CIA on Sunday to investigate whether the Chinese intelligence have infiltrated Google. He further asked the agencies to ask Google three questions to see if the tech giant has been compromised by the Chinese intelligence.
Apart from this, Theil was talking to Carlson about artificial intelligence and how it people talk about it nonstop in the Silicon Valley. He said the technology has dual use that the people never talks about.
He further said that, “If it’s real, if this is a real thing, it obviously can also be used by the military, it’ll be weaponized in all sorts of ways, and it’s an important national security question as to who has it”.
