Buzzfeed Terms and Condtions For Trademark

A Person bought a trademark domain of Buzzfeed and this is their legal notice when someone buy a trademark domain of Buzzfeed.

Greg brehm represent BuzzFeed, Inc. (“BuzzFeed) and write you with regard to the above-captioned domain (the “Domain”), which you registered with BigRock Solutions Ltd on July 25, 2018. This letter is written in an attempt to amicably arrange for your immediate cessation of the use of the www.buzzfeednewz.com (the “Domain”), and the transfer of same from you to BuzzFeed, Inc. without need for legal proceedings, which would undoubtedly accomplish the same result.

Both U.S. federal law and international policies protect BuzzFeed’s legitimate rights in the Domain. The federal Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act, 15 U.S.C. 1125(d), provides in pertinent part: civil liability for a person who “has a bad faith intent to profit [from a domain] and registers, traffics in, or uses a domain name that… is a trademark, word, or name protected by [federal law]…” Your registration of the Domain is the platinum standard definition of a bad faith registration, opening you up to monetary damages and equitable remedies in U.S. federal court. Additionally, ICANN’s Uniform Domain-Name Dispute- Resolution Policy provides an administrative means for BuzzFeed to acquire the Domain from you. Neither forum awards bad faith intent, such as yours, with compensation of any kind and each can present considerable cost to defend.

We would prefer to deal with this matter in the most reasonable and efficient manner possible. While we are in a position to enforce our rights through the courts and/or administrative proceedings, we would rather deal directly with you to resolve this matter promptly.

We hereby reserve all our rights in law and in equity or otherwise, as well as the right to withdraw our offer at any time and for any reason, including any determination that you are unwilling to cooperate with our offer.

Please reply to this letter via email by no later than close of business on Friday, August 31, 2018, confirming that you have ceased your use of our intellectual property and that you will initiate the transfer of the Domain. Be advised: if we do not hear from you by that time, we will not hesitate in commencing a proceeding to effect the transfer of the Domain to us.

Sincerely,

greg brehm
