Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot stated she is apologetic she insulted a police union leader audibly on Wednesday.
It’s no top-secret that Mayor Lightfoot does not get through with the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP).040
Though, it was still astonishing when, during the City Council meeting, she was caught on a microphone getting rude with the group’s second in command.
As Patrick Murray got up to express, Lightfoot could be overheard saying, “oh, back again, this FOP clown.”
The mayor later express regret and said she should not have made the comments out loud.
Murray was at the council assembly to support the officers who were fired by the police board last week for their participation in the Laquan McDonald shooting.
