Delhi experienced the chilliest morning of the season on Sunday, recording a minimum temperature of 8.3 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The data suggests a slight dip in the minimum temperature in the coming days.
On Sunday, the maximum temperature settled at 23.4 degrees Celsius, slightly below the season’s average. The minimum temperature was registered at 8.3 degrees Celsius. The previous day, Saturday, witnessed a minimum temperature of 8.5 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 25 degrees Celsius.

Simultaneously, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 312 at 6 pm on Sunday, falling under the ‘very poor’ category. This was a slight improvement from the 322 recorded at 6 pm on Saturday. The relative humidity at 5:30 pm was reported to be 60 percent, as per PTI.
In terms of temperatures in other parts of India, Fatehpur in Sikar, Rajasthan, was the coldest place, registering a minimum temperature of 5.2 degrees Celsius. Sikar recorded a minimum temperature of 7.0 degrees Celsius, Churu at 7.3 degrees, Sangaria at 7.9 degrees, Pilani at 8.1 degrees, Jalore at 8.3 degrees, and Ganganagar at 9.5 degrees, according to the Met office in Jaipur.
Meanwhile, Srinagar experienced its coldest night of the season, with the minimum temperature dropping below the freezing point to minus 4.6 degrees Celsius. The temperature recorded on Friday night was down more than two notches from the minus 2.4 degrees Celsius on Thursday night.
In West Bengal, Sandakphu and Tonglu witnessed their inaugural snowfall, attracting numerous tourists seeking to enjoy the snow-covered Kanchenjunga mountain range. The snowfall in various parts of the state has raised hopes of a white Christmas for tourists, with many sharing visuals from Sandakphu and other snow-covered destinations.
