NBC News faced some technical issues on Thursday morning during the first Democratic primary debate. President Donald Trump still continues to mock the News agency for this technical fault and recently posted a funny doctored video of himself, appearing at the debate to the music of Crazy Train by Ozzy Osborne.
Trump wrote, Thank you @MSNBC, real professionals! @chucktodd @maddow, quoting to the video he uploaded and was made by Carpe Donktum which is also Trump’s favourite meme creator on the internet.
Trump’s this act is after NBC News faced an embarrassing transition into its second hour of Democratic debate. The News agency had to cut to commercial breaks in order to get away with the technical difficulties.
All went well for the first half of the debate when the NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt, Telumundo anchor Jose Diaz-Balart, and anchor Savannah Guthrie handed over the control to MSNBC host Rachel Maddow and moderator Chuck Todd to moderate the second session. However, things started derailing quickly after the candidates struggled to hear Chuck’s first question.
Chuck told that there must be a little mic issue on backstage looking towards the control room. Todd further attempted to continue the debate but the microphone issues just won’t go. Many of the candidates including Sen. Amy and D-Minn started laughing.
When Maddow asked what is happening, Todd explained that they are hearing the audio of their colleagues. He requested the control room to turn off the mics of the previous moderators. Maddow later said that they were prepared for everything but not for this. Todd, then said to the viewers that they would take a short break, and fix this issue and come back.
This technical glitch ignited reactions from different people on social media including the President Donald Trump himself. The upcoming Thursday debate will feature ten more candidates including Sen. Bernie Sanders, Vice President Joe Biden, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and I-VT.
