Florida man tried killing himself in a murder-suicide plan, but says the gun malfunctioned

A Florida man was arrested when he said he failed in killing himself as the latter part of his murder-suicide plan. He ended up killing his wife. 

The suspect, Wayne Juhlin, 94, informed the police that his 80-year-old wife who was suffering from dementia is dead. Upon investigator’s arrival, he confessed that he shot his wife and also tried to kill himself after that.

The Venice Police Department said that he tried killing himself but the gun malfunctioned. He said that since his weapon was jammed, it prevented him to kill himself. He was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
