Latest US Sanctions Ends The Diplomacy Channel Forever, Iran Says

In a tweet that came from the spokesperson of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, it was mentioned that the new US sanctions, which target their Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and also other Iranian officials, are destroying any chance of possible diplomacy between the two countries.

The tweet was followed by Rouhani, the Iranian President, who mocked the White House by saying that it is affected by mental retardation. He said this while addressing on the television on Tuesday.

The seemingly increasing tension between the two countries the US and Iran have seen a sudden spike from the past few weeks. It all happened when an initial US sanction squeeze led to the attacks on two oil tankers. The event happened in the Strait of Hormuz. The situation further worsened after Tehran admittes to take down a $100 million drone of the US Navy.

In return of President Donald Trump‘s latest decision, Abbas Mousavi rolled out on Twitter and opposed Trump saying that the sanctions means closing channel of diplomacy forever.

The Tweet read, Trump’s desperate administration is destroying the established international mechanisms for maintaining world peace and security.

Donald Trump’s national security advisor, John Bolton said that the US is open to negotiations. All Iran has to do is walk through that open door. Though it was unclear whether or not this response was in connection with Mousavi’s tweet, but it seems like it was.

About the sanctions, Trump says that will deny the supreme leader and the supreme leader’s office and those closely affiliated with him and the office access to key financial resources and support.

Trump has been largely credited for his nature of being cautious while dealing with a hostile country. The President appears to be hesitant to enter another hot war, but said that his restraint is definitely not limitless.

A news agency has also confirmed that the US military carried a cyber attack on Iran. This was in response to the downing of American drone.
