New York City police discover decaying body inside sewer vent

Utility laborers found a breaking down body inside a sewer vent in New York City on Tuesday morning, police say.

The frightening revelation was made around 3 a.m. by a Verizon utility team that had been working in the zone of Manhattan’s Columbus Circle, as indicated by FOX5NY.

“Upon appearance, officials watched a unidentified grown-up male, oblivious and inert, whose body was found in a condition of disintegration,” the New York City Police Department said in an announcement. “EMS reacted to the area and articulated the male expired at the scene.”

The body – which has not been recognised at this point – is presently being checked by a therapeutic analyst.

It’s not quickly clear to what extent the body was inside the sewer vent before it was found.

Police say the examination of the episode is continuous.
