PM Modi inaugurates Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam 2023

Date:

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2023 on Saturday, marking the third anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

During his inaugural address at the event, the prime minister highlighted India’s growing reputation as a hub of new opportunities, attracting interest from various global universities looking to establish campuses within the country. PM Modi revealed that several countries have approached the Indian government to set up Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) campuses, with two campuses already on the verge of commencing operations in Tanzania and Abu Dhabi.

“The world sees India as a fertile ground for new possibilities. Many countries are keen to open IIT campuses here, and we already have two campuses on track, in Tanzania and Abu Dhabi. Furthermore, global universities are expressing their desire to establish campuses in India,” said the prime minister.

PM Modi emphasized the importance of evaluating young talents based on their abilities rather than their language. He lauded the NEP’s objective of transforming India into a center for research and innovation while preserving the value of traditional knowledge systems alongside futuristic technology.

Urging schools to broaden their educational scope, the prime minister called for increased awareness among students about critical topics such as climate change, disaster management, and clean energy.

In a significant step towards promoting inclusive education, PM Modi released education and skill curriculum books translated into 12 Indian languages.

The two-day Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2023 is being held at Bharat Mandapam, located in the historic Pragati Maidan area of New Delhi.
