A woman who allegedly hit-and-run on Father’s Day from the scene of a deadly car crash was arrested after fleeing to New Mexico the officials said. The crash left a dad of two dead.
Los Angeles Police Department took to Twitter on Sunday to inform that Maritza Joana Lara, 27, was arrested and taken into custody in Mexico after she fled the US and had gone to Mexico following the deadly car crash in
June.

According to police reports, Maritza was speeding on June 16 in a white Lexus when she ran a red light over and smashed into broadsided Nissan Murano driven by 48-year-old Fransisco Hernandez Rivas.

The Los Angeles Police Department released a video surveillance of the crash which showed both cars colliding and the SUV flipping over. Four people in Lara’s vehicle were injured critically, and Lara got out of the car and fled the scene, not providing any aid to the injured. Fransisco, a father of two was killed in the crash.
