With a huge fan base, Game of Thrones is probably one of the most successful and best series to have ever made. And all set to adieu its fans, Game of Thrones is having its finale season scheduled to be aired in April 2019. A new trailer was launched recently which has evoked the sleeping critic in many fans and brought a number of theories up the surface. Though the trailer is as captivating as it gets, the makers might have dropped a spoiler with it.
In one scene, Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) is all teary-eyed and is seen holding a glass of wine. And that is perfectly normal because trust me, who doesn’t want to celebrate the finale of one of the most epic TV series of all time? The only problem is, that if you have watched Season 7 finale (I’m sure you have), Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and Cersei are talking privately and that is when Tyrion offers her a glass of wine that she then decides not to touch. She puts her hand on the stomach, hinting Tyrion that she might be pregnant. The prenatal care during the prime of Westeros was obviously not the most advanced. However, Cersei refraining from wine is a clear indication of her pregnancy. A Reddit user pointed in the same direction.
Also, do you remember the Season 7 leaks which revealed major plot points of the season months in advance? A majority of them ended up being true leaks except one – Cersei having a miscarriage. So what didn’t happen in Season 7, might still hold a good possibility for Season 8. Showing Cersei sobbing with a glass of wine in the trailer could be a hint from the makers that she isn’t pregnant anymore.
However, you just can’t jump the gun until and unless the show finally airs. Maybe Cersei already has the baby. Notice her hair, they look a little longer so there is still a chance this theory may hit the right spot. Furthermore, there is even a foretelling stating that Cersei would only have three children, fathered by Jaime Lannister, her twin brother. All three of them have died during the show’s run. Even if Cersei does lose her baby in Season 8, it would make Gendry very crucial to the storyline. Gendry is famously theorized to be the black-haired child she reveals to have lost to fever in Season 1.
The scenario would make Gendry the heir of the Iron Throne. Also, he remembers very less about his mother, except that she had yellow hair.
But, these are all mere speculations. Maybe the scene itself doesn’t point to anything. Maybe it was the makers’ way of trolling the fans who gamble too much on the show’s storyline.
