US troops attacked in eastern Syria, officials say

Date:

U.S. powers positioned in eastern Syria were assaulted Monday morning, authorities stated, announcing no setbacks.

Authorities said the American soldiers close by Syrian Democratic Forces were directing a normal enemies of ISIS security watch close Tal Al-Zahab when they experienced a checkpoint involved by favorable to Syrian system powers.

“In the wake of getting protected section from the favorable to system powers, the watch went under little arms fire from people in the region of the checkpoint,” Col. Myles B. Caggins III, representative for Operation Inherent Resolve, said in an announcement. “Alliance troops returned fire in self-preservation. The Coalition didn’t lead an airstrike. No Coalition setbacks happened.”

Caggins said the episode stays under scrutiny. He didn’t give any data with respect to setbacks or wounds to the aggressors.

The dustup comes in the midst of reports that a U.S. helicopter gunship assaulted a Syrian armed force checkpoint in the nation’s upper east, murdering one fighter and injuring two others.

Syrian state media and a resistance war checking bunch detailed the assault came after the Syrian armed force kept an American escort from going through. Syrian state TV said the helicopter assault occurred in the town of Tal Dahab, close to the town of Qamishli.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights gave no breakdown of the setbacks yet said that before the strike, a contention broke out between the Syrian and U.S. troops.

It was not quickly clear if these were similar episodes. The announcement by Caggins denies any airstrike by U.S. powers.

Strains have been ascending in upper east Syria between government powers and U.S. troops lately. In a few examples, Syrian soldiers forestalled U.S. powers from entering a few regions in the district.

Many U.S. troops are positioned in northeastern Syria, working with their neighborhood accomplices from the Kurdish-drove Syrian Democratic Forces to battle against the Islamic State gathering.
