Following India’s historic victory at the Kensington Oval, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced a prize of ₹125 crore for the team. He stated, “I am pleased to announce prize money of INR 125 Crores for Team India for winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
The team has demonstrated exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and support staff for this outstanding achievement,” he shared on X.
Total Prize Money by ICC for team India
The ICC announced a record prize pool of $11.25 million for the T20 World Cup 2024. As the champions, India will receive $2.45 million (approximately ₹20.42 crores) along with additional bonuses, marking the highest-ever amount awarded in the tournament’s history.
Meanwhile, South Africa will earn $1.28 million (around ₹10.67 crores) as the runners-up. Teams also receive an extra $31,154 (about ₹25.97 lakhs) for each match won, bringing India’s total prize money from the ICC to approximately ₹22.63 crores.
