Four arrested for murder of a man in Gurugram

Date:

Four suspects have been taken into custody by the Gurugram police for the alleged murder of a 21-year-old man and attempted evidence destruction in order to conceal facts, the police announced on Sunday.

The police claim that on the night between February 16 and 17, they received information about a body found in a deserted area close to Begumpur Khatola hamlet.

Following receipt of the information, the police team arrived at the scene, where the body was stored in the mortuary for identification after being examined by the Forensic Science Laboratory, fingerprint, and dog squad teams.

The dead was identified as Pranav Kumar of Madhubani, Bihar, after the police team worked to identify him by gathering a variety of facts, including CCTV footage.

In the meantime, the deceased’s father complained to the police team on February 19 that his son, Pranav Kumar, was employed by a Gurugram-based company. His two other friends and his son shared a rental.

The complainant father told the police that on February 15, his son called and informed him that he and his roommates were fighting about how to divide the bills.

On February 19, the police notified him that his son’s remains had been discovered in an abandoned location.

His landlord and roommate killed his son.

After a complaint was received, a case was filed at the Badshahpur police station in Gurugram under the appropriate provisions.

Four suspects from Bahrampur Road were taken into custody by a Sector-40 criminal branch squad on Saturday as part of the inquiry.

The defendants were Satish, Vijay Kuma, and Brijesh Kumar, all of whom were from Uttar Pradesh, and Rohit, who lived in the Khandsa village of Gurugram.

It was discovered during interrogation that the victim rented the accused Rohit’s home.

The landlord, Rohit, noticed Pranav sleeping in the closed room on the nights of February 16 and 17. Pranav was asleep, he believed, because he was drunk. He then smashed the latch, peered inside, and discovered his body.

“The accused had not taken the ID of the deceased Pranav Kumar, due to which he was afraid that the police would question him. Due to this, he, along with the three accused, put Pranav’s body in his car and threw it in a deserted place to destroy evidence,” according to Gurugram police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar.
