Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini attended the National Urban Local Bodies Conference being held in Manesar. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Haryana Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan, Deputy Speaker Dr. Krishan Middha, Haryana Cabinet Ministers Vipul Goel and Rao Narbir Singh, and Lok Sabha Secretary General Utpal Kumar Singh also participated in the conference.
The country’s first National Urban Local Bodies Conference is being held at the ICAT campus in Manesar. Today marked the inauguration of the two-day national conference on the theme “Role of Urban Local Bodies in Constitutional Democracy and Nation Building.” Heads of urban local bodies from various states and union territories are participating in the conference.
“We have gathered here to discuss a subject that will contribute to making India a developed nation. The theme of this conference will help strengthen the roots of democracy and pave the way to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India) 2047. Urban local bodies are the primary schools of democracy. Just like the Lok Sabha, Speaker Om Birla has provided an opportunity to deliberate on key issues by convening a session of local bodies.”
