Gurugram News: Clash between two groups, eight injured

Date:

Sohna: A clash broke out near Tikona Park in the town, leaving eight people injured, including a woman. The injured were admitted to the local civil hospital for treatment. Six of them, who are in critical condition, have been referred to a hospital in Gurugram.

In the case, a married woman has accused her husband, father-in-law, elder brother-in-law, and mother-in-law of threatening to kill her for not bringing ₹10 lakh.

Manisha, a resident near Tikona Park in Sohna, told the police that her father had spent around ₹10 lakh on her marriage with Vicky, a resident of Gurugram. However, her in-laws were not satisfied with the dowry received. Just a few days after the wedding, her husband Vicky, brother-in-law Ashok, and mother-in-law Somwati allegedly started taunting her for bringing less dowry. Troubled by the harassment, Manisha has been living with her parents for the past year.

The married woman has alleged that her husband Vicky threatened to burn her alive for not bringing ₹10 lakh from her parental home. On Monday, a clash broke out near Tikona Park between the two sides, during which sticks and rods were used. Eight people from both sides were injured in the fight. Among the injured were the woman Manisha’s father, brother, and other relatives, while on the in-laws’ side, her husband Vicky, brother-in-law Ashok, and mother-in-law Somwati were injured. All the injured were admitted to the Sohna civil hospital for treatment. Later, as the condition of six people was serious, they were referred to hospitals in Gurugram.

In the clash, people from both sides sustained injuries. The injured have been admitted to hospitals in Gurugram and Nalhar. Statements from both parties have not yet been recorded. The investigation will begin once the statements are given. – Praveen Kumar, Inspector, Sohna City Police Station.
