India has dispatched 2.5 tonnes of emergency medical supplies to Kabul via a Kam Air flight, aiming to assist in the treatment of victims affected by the recent attack on the Omid Addiction Treatment Hospital.

The incident, which took place on March 16, resulted in significant casualties. According to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, at least 143 people lost their lives, while 119 others were injured in the strike.
Authorities in Afghanistan have alleged that the attack was carried out by Pakistan’s air force. However, Pakistan has rejected the claim, stating that its operations were directed at nearby military targets and suggesting that the high casualty figures may have been caused by secondary explosions.
Amid the conflicting narratives, New Delhi has refrained from assigning responsibility, instead focusing on humanitarian support. The Indian government reiterated its commitment to standing in solidarity with the Afghan people during times of crisis.
India has a long-standing record of providing assistance to Afghanistan, including the supply of essential medicines, cancer treatment drugs, and vaccines, particularly during emergencies.
