NASA revealed its most recent intentions on Monday to collaborate with a streaming service in an effort to make space more accessible. Netflix will begin streaming NASA+ live programming this summer.
Streaming rocket launches, astronaut spacewalks, mission coverage, and stunning live Earth views from the International Space Station will now be an additional option for viewers.
Rebecca Sirmons, general manager of NASA+ at the agency’s Washington headquarters, stated, “The National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958 calls on us to share our story of space exploration with the broadest possible audience.” “Together, we’re committed to a Golden Age of Innovation and Exploration – inspiring new generations – right from the comfort of their couch or in the palm of their hand from their phone.”

In an era of contemporary media, where Netflix reaches over 700 million people worldwide, this collaboration will make NASA’s scientific and exploratory efforts even more accessible, enabling the agency to inspire and engage a global audience.
Connecting with as many people as possible via live events, social media, audio, and video is part of the agency’s larger initiatives. The objective is straightforward: to spread the thrill of the agency’s inventions, discoveries, and space exploration to everyone, no matter where they are.
The NASA app and the agency’s website continue to offer NASA+ for free, ad-free. Schedules and other programming information will be revealed prior to debut.
