Pakistan Blames India for Suspected Suicide Bombing on School Bus

Date:

The alleged suicide attack on a school bus in Pakistan’s south-western province of Balochistan on Wednesday morning, which claimed the lives of three youngsters, has been attributed to India.

The bus was traveling to Khuzdar to go to the army public school. Local authorities claim that an assailant crashed a car into the bus before setting off explosives.

Five individuals were killed, according to officials, including three youngsters, the bus driver, and a security officer. Dozens more children were gravely hurt. According to police, the preliminary investigation revealed that the bombing was a suicide.

Twelve-year-old Hifsa Kausar, sixteen-year-old Esha Saleem, and twelve-year-old Sania Somroo were the youngsters that were killed.

At first, no militant organization took credit for the assault. But Pakistan’s military’s propaganda branch quickly released a statement accusing India, its adversary and neighbor, of “planning and orchestrating” the strike.

The military statement said that “Indian terror proxies are being employed as a state tool by India to foment terrorism in Pakistan against soft targets such as innocent children and civilians,”

“Baseless allegations regarding Indian involvement in unrest in Pakistan” were refuted by India’s foreign ministry.

The charge is made during a very tense time in India-Pakistan ties. Before a ceasefire was announced on May 10, the two nuclear-armed nations sent drones and missiles into each other’s territory earlier this month, bringing them as close to war as they had been in decades.
