Trump-Zelensky Meeting: Heated Clash Over Peace Deal
Trump-Zelensky Meeting: Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump engaged in a contentious discussion on the peace deal. The Ukrainian president was informed by Trump that “you are not in a position to give us orders.”
On Friday, February 28, 2025, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House. The two leaders talked about a mineral trade agreement between their countries as well as the current conflict in Ukraine.
The Associated Press reported that Zelensky called Putin a terrorist in front of Trump, saying that “the world does not need to negotiate with a murderer.” Trump responded by demanding that Ukraine and Russia come to a peace deal.
Angry Discussion Between Trump and Zelensky
The conversation swiftly turned into a furious dispute. Zelensky was adamantly against any ceasefire, claiming that Ukraine would not agree under such conditions. In response, Trump said:
“Your nation is having problems. Don’t give us instructions. With World War III, you are taking a chance. You are not in a position to command us. We’ve given you $350 billion and weaponry. We will leave this situation if you won’t engage in negotiations.”
JD Vance, vice president I had to step in

In order to defuse the heated argument, U.S. Vice President JD Vance had to intervene. Trump added that he wished to be seen as a broker of peace and underlined that “Ukraine is safe because of us.”
Trump even threatened Zelensky as the meeting came to a tense conclusion, saying:
“Your bad days start from today.”
