‘No Game No Life’ Season 2 Cancelled Due to Plagiarism Allegations; ‘Zero’ Film Based on Original Manga

Date:

‘No Game No Life’ Season 2 : If you are an anime fan, you must have seen No Game No Life at some point in your life. It is the work of Yuu Kamiya’s manga turned into anime and was published under the MF Bunko J imprint with eight novels. They were released between 25th April 2012 and 25th December 2015. For those of you who have watched the show, you know that Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger with Shiro and Sora facing the God of Games himself. However, it seems like you would not be getting the opportunity to know what happens in the story forward. The Season 2 of No Game No Life might be canceled due to the said allegations that the author Kamiya copied the artwork of other artists.

What Happened to no game no life?

There are no updates when or whether Season 2 of No Game No Life will be released. But due to the claims stating that Kamiya committed plagiarism, the future of Season 2 is pretty much in dark. According to a website, someone caught Kamiya stealing his work and took to the social media to expose him. The characters like Jibril, Stephanie Dora, and Izuna appeared to have similar poses to some other anime characters by fellow artists. Although, Kamiya didn’t trace the characters directly, but had taken exact poses and some other details from other artworks.

After the said allegations, Kamiya apologized to the artists and even paid them for the work he used. However, all this has led to the possibility that Season 2 of No Game No Life might get canceled, leaving the users hanging with the cliffhanger. Despite all of this, the show might have a spin-off film titled Zero which is said to be based on light novels and main manga. According to a report, the film will follow the story where Riku tries bringing an end to the Great War by inculcating peace in Disboard. In the process, Riku will be joined by Shuvi to fight and create a world succeeded by Shiro, Tet, and Sora.

The teaser for the No Game No Life: Zero is already streaming on the official website.

The official cast for the spin-off film Zero includes Ai Kayano as Shiro, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Sora, Yukari Tamura as Jibril, Yoko Hikasa as Stephanie Dora, Yuka Iguchi as Clammy Zell, Miyuki Sawashiro as Izuna Hatsuse, Mamiko Noto as Feel Nilvalen, and Rie Kugimiya as Teto.

Apart from the film, Kamiya’s fans are shocked to know that the author has been alleged of plagiarizing. Moreover, nothing has been officially announced as of now on what will happen to his work or whether or not he will lose his position. Whatever be the case, though, all Kamiya did was use only the poses of some of the characters. He did trace the artworks of other people but didn’t copy the characters in whole. If this is the reason they are canceling the Season 2 of No Game No Life, I don’t see a point of them doing that.
