German actor Christian Oliver, known for his roles in films like Speed Racer and Valkyrie, tragically lost his life in a plane crash in the Caribbean along with his two daughters, Madita, 10, and Annik, 12.
The incident occurred while they were en route from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to St Lucia. The plane, piloted by American Robert Sachs, experienced difficulties shortly after takeoff and crashed into the ocean.
Local responders, including divers and fishermen from Bequia, retrieved all four victims from the sea. Post-mortem examinations will be conducted in St Vincent.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority, with the US State Department offering consular assistance to the affected families.
Christian Oliver, born Christian Klepser, also appeared in The Good German, Alarm for Cobra 11, Sense8, and contributed to various video games. His family and friends mourn the tragic loss, and thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.
