Supreme Court Rejects Petition Over NEET-UG Protest Crackdown at Jantar Mantar

Date:

The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition challenging the actions of the Delhi Police and Rapid Action Force against [Cockroach / Party Name] Janta Party (CJP) demonstrators at Jantar Mantar. Protesters have been rallying at the site since early June over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak controversy.

Tensions escalated significantly on July 20 during a march toward Parliament. Delhi Police reported 118 injuries among personnel due to clashes and vandalism, while organizers claimed 83 protesters were injured—including activist Shaikh Irshad Mansoori, who required surgery for facial pellet wounds.

Local residents have shown support by providing food and water to demonstrators. Meanwhile, political friction continues to intensify ahead of the Monsoon Session, with opposition leaders calling for the Education Minister’s resignation and the BJP dismissing the protests as political propaganda. CJP leadership vows to sustain the movement until full accountability is reached.
