2026 Skoda Slavia Facelift Confirmed for August 18 Launch: New 8-Speed Automatic, Fresh Styling, & Upgraded Tech

Date:

Škoda Auto India has officially confirmed that the 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift will make its public debut on August 18, 2026. Marking the first major mid-cycle update for the midsize sedan since its launch, the refreshed Slavia brings crucial mechanical upgrades, modernized front and rear styling, and a boost to its interior feature suite.

Here is everything you need to know about what is changing with the updated Slavia.

Key Updates at a Glance

  • Launch Date: August 18, 2026
  • Expected Price Range: ₹11.00 Lakh – ₹18.50 Lakh (ex-showroom)
  • Primary Upgrade: New 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox replacing the 6-speed AT on the 1.0L TSI engine
  • Rivals: Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, and Honda City

Mechanical Upgrade: New 8-Speed Automatic Gearbox

The biggest change under the hood takes place on the 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine. While power output remains at 115 hp and 178 Nm, Škoda is replacing the existing 6-speed torque converter automatic with an all-new 8-speed automatic transmission. This new gearbox aims to improve highway fuel efficiency, smooth out gear shifts in urban traffic, and offer a more responsive driving dynamic.

The performance-oriented 1.5-litre TSI engine (150 hp / 250 Nm) stays unchanged, paired with either a 6-speed manual or the fast-shifting 7-speed DSG automatic.

Engine OptionPower / TorqueTransmission Options
1.0L TSI Turbo-Petrol115 hp / 178 Nm6-speed Manual / New 8-speed Automatic
1.5L TSI Turbo-Petrol150 hp / 250 Nm6-speed Manual / 7-speed DSG Automatic

Revised Exterior Styling

Following design cues seen on recent Škoda teasers and global updates, the Slavia facelift retains its signature low-slung sedan silhouette while adopting sharper accents:

  • Front Fascia: A wider “butterfly” front grille featuring an integrated LED illuminated lighting bar and a re-profiled front bumper.
  • Lighting: Redesigned LED headlamps with new internal lighting graphics.
  • Side Profile: New 16-inch and optional 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheel choices.
  • Rear End: Reworked LED connected tail-lamp signature with dynamic sequential turn indicators and an illuminated rear ‘ŠKODA’ lettering.

Upgraded Cabin & Technology

Inside, the overall dashboard layout remains intact, but Škoda has added new convenience and safety features:

  • Displays: A larger 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation replaces the older 8-inch unit on higher trims. The 10.1-inch floating touchscreen continues with an updated user interface and AI assistant features.
  • Comfort Additions: Rear seat massage function, multi-color ambient lighting, new upholstery color schemes, and enhanced front seat ventilation.
  • Safety & Hardware: 6 airbags (standard), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), electronic stability control, and potential Level 2 ADAS driver assistance suites on top-spec variants.

Expected Pricing & Availability

The 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift is anticipated to start from approximately ₹10.99 Lakh for the entry-level manual and extend up to ₹18.50 Lakh for the top-end 1.5L DSG variant (ex-showroom). Official price announcements and test drive bookings open nationwide on launch day, August 18.
