“Terrorism has no place in our world”: PM Modi and Netanyahu talk

Since Hamas abducted Israeli civilians in October of last year, there has been an intensification of the violence in West Asia. Israel’s response to the attacks in Gaza has expanded to include airstrikes on Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed organization that attacked Israel, and the Houthi rebels in Yemen, who also struck Israel.

Israel has allegedly told the United States that it intends to conduct a limited ground operation in addition to its recent spate of strikes on Lebanon. Reports of these events have appeared in publications including the Washington Post.

The Israeli army declared on Saturday that it had assassinated Nasrallah, the head of Hezbollah, during an assault on the organization’s Beirut headquarters. Hardliners in Iran are in response calling for drastic measures against Israel, such as the possible closing of the vital Strait of Hormuz and the development of nuclear weapons.

There are no regions in the Middle East that are inaccessible to Israel, stated Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

A truce between Israel and Hezbollah has been demanded by Lebanon’s prime minister, Najib Mikati, at a meeting with French foreign minister Jean-Noel Barrot in Beirut.
